This came out of a collection, and I was told 1970, it's from that era. It was noisy, and I called my buddy in DC who loves these things, and understands the nuances and differences between the different models, as I do not. He had a recommendation for a guy to service it who also has a passion for Fuzz Faces, and has made his sound great, so sent it there. The 2 BC108's have been replaced, and the originals are in a small baggie inside the pedal, along with a couple other parts that were replaced. He thought the original transistors legs wouldn't take a lot of moving around, so obtained 2 NOS BC108's from Russia, of all places as those seemed to be the closest to what I would want to make the pedal sound like it should. Getting back, I have to say (disclaimer- I am not a pedal guy, and have only had 4 older Fuzz Faces) it's the best one I have played through. Not fizzy, and the mids are a lot smoother. I like that, you may not, but played through a JMP it was magnificent. The bottom is a replacement I got from Analog Man. Both knobs are repro's, though I had one original knob somewhere, I may have sent it with the pedal and not gotten it back. It's a monster, and should last another 50 years. Thanks for looking!
