The original Danelectro company was first founded in 1947 and by 1954 they started producing a distinct line of quirky guitars, eventually expanding to 12-strings, baritones and even sitars! The instruments often used unique lipstick-tube pickups, which contained the pick-up inside lipstick tubes, as well as concentric stacked tone/volume knobs on certain models. Danelectro's goal was to produce no-frills guitars of good tone at low cost and now Replay Guitar Exchange is excited to offer many of the instruments in the range, including this black ’59, based on Danelectro’s most famous guitar with original factory specs. The guitar features a shorthorn shape, a six saddle adjustable bridge, 2 lipstick pickups with 2 stacked tone & volume controls and a 3 way pickup selector. This is a must have for any player serious about tone. A case is not included.
