Here we have a great playing 1956 Danelectro U-1 in a rare Copper burst finish. The original lipstick pickup has that characteristic sound that makes these 50s Danelectros so legendary. In good vintage condition with a moderate smattering of dings and finish wear and two small holes in the body below the bridge. Overall a real nice looking Dano for sure. Set up in-house, playing well, and ringing cleanly up and down the fingerboard. If you’ve been looking for a vintage U-1 that’s not only collectable but a solid player as well, then look no longer. This is the one.
Original 3-on-a-plate tuners. Original Aluminum nut measuring a comfortable 1 5/8 inches. Maple neck with a 25 inch scale length and a depth of .80 inches at the first fret and .91 inches at the twelfth fret. Rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets. Original superb sounding lipstick pickup in the neck position. All-original bridge and Rosewood saddle.
A nice lightweight instrument with a strong voice and ringing tone you’d expect from a vintage Danelectro.
