Description
Built around a comfortably contoured offset body, the D'Angelico Deluxe Bedford boasts vintage-inspired aesthetics and performance that's tailored toward modern musicians. Two Seymour Duncan Stack P-90s deliver the biting highs, full midrange, and deep lows of a typical P-90 — without any hum. D'Angelico's top-of-the-line Deluxe series features only the best tonewoods: a resonant alder body, a rigid 3-piece maple/walnut neck, and a smooth ebony fingerboard make up this guitar's construction. Plus, D'Angelico has loaded this Deluxe Bedford up with a rock-solid combination of Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners and a Wilkinson 6-point tremolo to keep your axe in tune — even with heavy vibrato. D'Angelico may have made their reputation making archtops, but this Deluxe Bedford proves that they have a stunningly bright future of top-tier solidbodies in front of them!
Buck the hum with stacked P-90s

The D'Angelico Deluxe Bedford comes loaded with a set of stacked STK P-90 pickups. Double P-90s represent one of the most classic guitar configurations in history, capable of both the pristinely warm cleans and biting treble tones that defined the early days of rock 'n' roll, blues, and jazz guitar. What's more, Seymour Duncan's stacked construction provides a completely hum-free experience when using the STK P-90s — even in high-gain applications!

Fast 3-piece neck with glassy ebony fingerboard

Playing the Deluxe Bedford is sheer delight. Its 3-piece maple-walnut neck boasts a comfortable "C" profile, and its satin finish supplies the perfect blend of grip and ease of movement. Its 14-inch-radius ebony fingerboard features medium-vintage nickel silver frets to facilitate comfortable chording and technically demanding lead work. The instrument's easy hand feel is a byproduct of its 24.75-inch scale length, which makes bends and vibrato feel effortless. For rock-solid tuning stability, the Deluxe SS is equipped with Grover Super Rotomatic Locking 14:1 tuners, while a GraphTech TUSQ nut bolsters sustain and eliminates string binding.

The D'Angelico legacy

After mastering his craft during an 18-year apprenticeship, luthier John D'Angelico opened his shop in Manhattan's Little Italy in 1932. Catering to New York's many jazz musicians over the ensuing three decades, D'Angelico and a single apprentice became New York's foremost stringed-instrument builders, creating over 1,000 treasured archtop guitars until John's death in 1964. After his passing, D'Angelico's legacy lived on only through his rare, legendary instruments. After decades, the D'Angelico brand has resurfaced, bringing back the playability and attention to detail of the company's New York roots. D'Angelico uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the finest available materials to create playable works of art for today's guitarist. From a modest shop in Little Italy to the world stage, D'Angelico's dedication to quality craftsmanship ensures that this brand won't be going dormant again any time soon.
