1942 D'Angelico Style A in excellent plus condition. This is a gorgeous example of the Style A. Serial number recorded in D'Angelico's ledger as 7/28/1942. Standard features for the style A 17" wide body, flamed maple back and sides, fine spruce top, ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays, open gear tuners, adjustable ebony bridge, reddish sunburst finish, 1 5/8" nut width, 24 3/4" scale, celluloid pick-guard. This guitar is all original right down to the frets and end pin. It is free of issues or repairs. The binding and pickguard are in perfect condition with no sign of deterioration. The combination of 17" body with parallel bracing and the shorter scale makes for a wonderful sounding and feeling guitar. The attack is lively and full. There is plenty of low end on tap and a nice powerful bark when played with a sturdy right hand. The string to string and note to note balance is impressive in every register. An exceptional Style A. Includes original hard case.
