A most unique guitar from the personal workshop of Danny Brown, head of the Martin Guitar Custom Shop for many years and a mainstay of the Martin Company for decades. In addition to the many, many custom Martin guitars he and I have collaborated on over time, Danny is one of the very finest builders I have ever known, and we are thrilled to have another of his own brilliantly fabulous instruments here. This one is truly unique: it is in the Orchestra Model style, with flamed maple sides and a three-piece back with center panel of flamed maple, and outer panels of East Indian rosewood. The tones produced by this combination are incomparable; they are rich, bright, and as clear as can be, and there’s LOTS of them. Top and back bindings are of flamed Koa, the rosette is multi-colored, and the back purflings are of fine herringbone, for a striking contrast to the black satin finish. East Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge complete the picture, along with a 1/11-16” nut width and 25.4” scale. It is light in weight and as wonderful a fine-playing guitar as one can find.
