Here's a nearly new Deering Sierra openback banjo. Built in the spring of 2016, this fine banjo is in pristine, nearly new condition with its original Deering Vega case. This is one of the very first of these banjos produced by Deering. It is an elegant, very playable, professional grade banjo.

By simply eliminating the heavy flange and resonator the Deering Sierra open-back offers a voice very much in the spirit of the famed Vega #2 Tubaphone at a far lower price.

This is a consignment piece. Prices shown here are in US dollars and are based on a recent exchange rate. For Canadian dollar pricing, please follow the More Details link here to our website posting at . Prices do not include shipping, taxes, or any import duties.

The Deering Sierra uses the famed ’06 or Aught Six Deering flathead ring - a ring that has roughly the same mass as a Tubaphone which when combined with the maple neck offers the superb tone and sustain one would expect in the Vega #2.
