The JRT 9/15 preamp drives two 5879 pentodes in tandem, each with its own independent volume control. These circuits are voiced for dramatically different responses: one provides more top-end presence and later breakup, while the other offers lower headroom with an emphasis on low-mid frequencies, delivering a dense, rich tone. These complementary channels can be used individually or simultaneously to achieve the ideal response, highlighting the best qualities of each.
