Don Grosh 1996 Bent Top Custom
This Bent Top Custom is produced by Don Grosz, who has a passion for hand-craftsmanship and continues to produce them in small numbers.
The brand started production in 1993 in Colorado, USA, after being part of Valley Arts in the 80s.
This model has a beautiful quilted maple top finished in Trans Blue for a premium look, and is called the Bent Top because it is made by bending it along the smooth curve of the arm contour.
It has a slightly slimmer body shape, a very smooth shaped back contour, heel contour finish, etc., for better playability, with Lindy Fralin single coil pickups on the neck and the center and an original Grosch humbucker on the bridge.
The controls are 1 volume/1 tone/blender and are wired to blend the bridge humbucker when the neck pickup is selected (anti-clockwise) and the neck single when the bridge pickup is selected (clockwise).
There are age-related weather checks on the body top, discoloration on the pick guard, several tiny dents on the edge of the body top, buckle marks with paint peeling and numerous pockmarks and scuffs on the body back, several tiny dents on the body sides and a few tiny dents on the head.
There is no fret wear and they are about 70% remaining, the neck and truss rod are both in good playing condition with no problems.
The tremolo arm has been replaced.
