Description

Offered is this fabulous D'Pergo Vintage Classic, serial 0249, which was built in 2006. D'Pergo guitars are few and far between and this one even more so with its Brazilian Rosewood fretboard.

The body of this gorgeous guitar is made from very lightweight Alder giving the instrument a total weight of just 7 pounds, 3 ounces. It is superbly finished in extremely thin "3 Tone Sunburst" nitrocellulose lacquer. The sunburst finish and its mint green pickguard give this guitar a decidedly traditional Strat-like vibe.

The neck on this guitar was made from "Certified Aged Maple" of the very best quality available in 2006 and far better than the quality typically available to today's builders. The neck has been hand carved to a rounded C-shape with depth measurements of .900" at the first fret, increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret. It has a smooth, dry satin nitro finish that feels fabulous in your hands. It has a 10" radius, a 1.650" aged bone nut, 6105 Dunlop fret " wire and Abalone dot markers.

The pickups on this instrument are made by Wolfetone which have been paired with Stephan's ultra-high quality wiring and components. Only the best nickel hardware was used, including vintage style staggered tuners and a D'Pergo brand tremolo bridge with brass plate and drop-in arm.

As a D'Pergo, this guitar's acoustic resonance and touch-sensitivity are evident after playing just a few notes without amplification. The guitar's light weight, great balance and the hand-finished contours of the body and neck make it nearly effortless to play. The incredible fretwork on a D'Pergo guitar could easily spoil you for most any other instrument. The setup is low and buzz free. This guitar feels and plays like the extraordinary instrument that it is. The tone is Strat-like, but has a special complexity that few if any other builders can consistently produce. Please listen to the brief sound sample included below. There is something special about the tone and clarity of a D'Pergo instrument.

While built in 2006 this guitar has been owned for many years by a collector of D'Pergo guitars and it remains in near mint condition with no flaws of any significance aside from some light pick marks on the guard. The frets remain spotless. It comes with its original G&G hard-shell case, trem arm, the Certificate of Authenticity and spec sheet. D'Pergo guitars are quite rare on the used market and those with Rosewood fretboards are rarer still. Make this spectacular S-style instrument yours today. Just amazing.....
