~2008 Epiphone AJ-500MVS Vintage Sunburst

Summary: This used Epiphone acoustic is astonishingly impressive at this price point. It has one significant ding on the lower bout of the top and a finish crack trailing off of it, but our in-house guitar tech has just inspected it and says it is not of structural concern. It has just been setup and restrung and it sounds and plays great.

Body: Solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, multi ply w/b/w binding, matte sunburst finish and tortoise pickguard.

Neck: D shaped mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, 25.75” scale length and 1.68” nut width.

Hardware: Nickel plated Grover “Butterbean” tuners, rosewood-bridge, bone nut and saddle.

Cosmetics: This acoustic has lots of pick scratching on the pickguard, some buffed out spots on the satin finish where it has been played a bit, some light scuffs around the sides and where a strap would go and some minor scratches and playwear you would expect to see on a guitar that was played a bit. There is also a small scuff through the finish by the low E tuner and some light scuffs on the headstock. Overall, it is in good used condition with only one major blemish on the lower bout of the top where a ding and finish crack are visible. Our luthier has inspected it and says it isn’t not of structural concern.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 12s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable for flatpicking or fingerstyle. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
