Now here's a real rare-bird that really captures the attention of everyone who sees it! The original Epiphone Coronet was introduced as a cousin to the Les Paul Junior of the time with its wrap-around combo bridge/tailpiece, single pickup and slab mahogany body, but only a scant number were produced in this original form. Not long after its introduction the Epiphone built "New York" pickups were replaced with the more common P-90, the body received more rounded edge contours, and they were painted in the customary cherry red finish of the day along with getting some regular bell styled knobs. Not that the "version 2" of the Coronet isn't a cool guitar, it just can't compete with the original and its jet black paint job, hard edges, soft-V shaped neck and white pointer knobs. We're happy to report that this lovely guitars is free of any repairs or breaks and the only work ever done to it was a new set of frets so it plays great. This is one vintage guitar worth the price of admission. It absolutely slays!
