DESCRIPTION
Its got a stinger! For your consideration a 1961 Epiphone E422T Century in a Royal Burgundy finish. Epiphone was founded in 1873 by Anastasios Slathopoulos in what used to be the Ottoman Empire (currently Turkey). He got his start building fiddles and lutes. Eventually his son would end up running the company after his passing in 1915. Epaminondas Slathopoulos turned the company into one of Gibsons strongest competitors during the 20s-40s. After his death in 1943 the company would have a hard time keeping up and the Slathopoulos brothers (Orphie and Frixo) would sell the company to Gibson. This guitar was built by Gibson at the Kalamazoo Factory in Michigan!

Specs! This guitar has had a neck reset. The electronics were replaced with CTS pots and an Orange drop cap. Besides these two alterations its all original and in very good condition. Original nickel Kluson 3 plate tuners. Nut width measures 1-11/16″. Mahogany neck with a depth of .83″ at the first fret and 1.03″ at the twelfth fret. It has a 24.75″ scale length. Rosewood fingerboard with a 12″ radius. The original 20 medium frets are in very good condition. Laminate maple full hollow body finish in Epiphones Royal Burgundy. Factory stinger on the back of the head stock! Original P-90 pick up. Electronics redone. Original adjustable rosewood bridge with a trapezoid tail piece. Comes with a gig bag. Weighs 5 pounds and 7.5 ounces.

Something about vintage Epiphones just puts a warm feeling in my heart! This one checks all the boxes plus some! Full hollow thin body makes this axe super light and fun to play, perfect amount of acoustic volume for T.V practice! Vintage P-90 pick up in the neck (yes please!). Neck reset means its got a clean bill of health. Extremely comfortable wide medium sized neck. Made in America at the same factory as Gibsons. Stinger on the back of the head stock in the knock out punch! Absolutely stunning instrument that make our inner guitar nerds giddy!
