Circa early 1990s Epiphone Emperor NA in a beautiful NATURAL FINISH with Gold Plated Parts - all in very good condition overall - with quality hardshell case. The serial number on the internal Epiphone tag has been marked out with a black marker, and there is an internal black ink stamp that reads 'pre-owned guitar' - but, based on some research, this seems to be a model from the early 1990s, and made in Japan. As we know, made in Japan is GOOD - VERY good. This is a really really nice build quality - set neck - lovely REAL Abalone/Pearl fingerboard inlays, and very attractive fingerboard binding, as well as a pretty headstock inlay - Gibson on the truss rod cover. She has nice large frets, very little wear, very easy to play. Previous owner installed a Johnny Smith pickup with volume and tone on the pick guard. Very mellow, smooth, bassy tones. This a GREAT jazz box for the money. Condition-wise: Some very light scratches, and that is about it - there is an area near the tailpiece that looks as though it took a knock at some point, right on the edge of the top's binding. You can see this area in a photo - it has been repaired, and it is solid - but you can see the repaired area, and there is some dullness to the top's finish where the repair is. This is a great playing and great sounding Emperor that offers a lot of bang for the buck, compared to other Gib counterparts. Please call for in hand description 859-261-5500. Thanks.
