From the 1961 Epiphone catalog: “Frontier – A jumbo like no other! Epiphone’s finest in this popular size and the pride of Country & Western artists who prize the beauty of its tone, deep bass, and big volume. The Frontier has the mellow sound so ideal for voice accompaniment….. the depth and resonance so desired for ballad playing….. and the superior quality always associated with Epiphone. Responsive fine-grade Spruce top with select curly Maple rims. Attractive multiple ivoroid binding. Fast-action, Mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod.”

This Epiphone FT-110 Frontier has survived in excellent condition and is ready to play. 1965 is the last year for the medium width (1 5/8″) nut and ceramic saddle. All parts appear to be original to the guitar including the tuners, frets, nut, bridge pins, bridge, saddle, and Gibson hard shell case. The neck and frets are in excellent condition and show very little signs of playing wear. The “2” on the back of the headstock indicates that it was originally sold as a second although we can find no evidence of a flaw. The rims and back exhibit beautiful flame figure in the Maple. There is a short, 1.5″ crack on the lower bout of the top that is stable. This guitar needs nothing and is ready for the stage, studio, or collection. We’re confident you’ll love the tone, aesthetic, and playability of this clean 1965 Epiphone FT-110 Frontier!
