Description
From the 1961 Epiphone catalog: “Texan: A jumbo flat-top guitar with booming voice, fine response, a fast-action neck, and many more fine features, exceptional at its popular price. Made with selected Spruce top for finest resonance, Mahogany back and rims, Mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod, Rosewood fingerboard with distinctive pearl inlays. Peghead with pearl-inlaid design and name. Attractive ivoroid purfling ring and large shell celluloid pickguard, Rosewood bridge, Nickel-plated enclosed machine heads. An outstanding instrument!”

This 1964 Epiphone FT-79 Texan was manufactured the same year as Paul’s and has survived in wonderful original condition. All parts are original to the guitar except the strings. It has a great deep, rumbly jumbo voice and a lightly braced top. It’s easy to see why Paul favored his for fingerpicking and light strumming. The original chipboard case is included.
