Up for sale is one used 1964-1965 Epiphone Newport vintage bass in excellent condition. This cool bass features a 30 1/2" scale, 1 1/2" nut width, Cherry Red finish on the Mahogany body and set Mahogany neck, the classic Gibson EB-1 pickup in the neck position, bridge with string mute, and volume and tone controls. This bass has some MAJORLY heavy tone. All thud here. Little definition, but if you're familiar with these old Gibson style basses, you know that tone. It is absolutely perfect for the player looking for that sound. It's amazing.

The condition is excellent with some typical blemishes that are often found on an instrument of its age - primarily scratches and dings on the back of the neck and on the treble-side and bass-side curves of the lower bout. The frets are in great shape with some evidence of use but they have plenty of life left in them. The truss rod cover has the letters "DG" engraved.

This great bass comes with the original hard shell case and has a serial number of 221*. We can't be certain of the year of manufacture as there is little information about this bass' serial number and the pots were covered by solder in the manufacturing process. The most recent owner said it's from 1964 or 1965.
