Description

Nice 1968 Epiphone Rivoli EB232 Bass in very good condition. It plays and sounds excellent. Big booming sound. Chas Chandler of the Animals is famous for using Rivoli basses along with a long line of British Invasion, Yardbirds, The Who, U2... It's a classic bass sound and this one has that.

The bass is all original except for the strap buttons. The frets are in nice shape with plenty of life. It was marked "2" when new, but nearly 50 years later, there is no issue to be found. The pickguard is original however it is in rough shape as commonly seen on these celluloid tortoise guards. They gas-off and affect the chrome hardware in the area too. It doesn't affect playability or anything though.

The bass was appraised in 2006 by Gruhn and the email is included with the instrument. The value was $2000.
