1977 Epiphone SC-550 Scroll Ebony

Summary: This rare Epiphone from the late 1970’s is a unique & awesome guitar. The longer scale length is very comfortable and the body is similar to a Les Paul. It has a super cool scroll on the upper bout & some beautiful inlay on the headstock with pearloid block inlays on the fingerboard. The brass nut & high quality pickups give this baby a super strong sound & it plays and sounds amazing!

Body: Solid maple body with a double cutaway featuring a scrolled upper bout.

Neck: 3-piece set maple neck, 24 fret bound ebony fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, bound black headstock with Epiphone pearloid logo, 3 per side Grove gold tuning keys, brass nut, 25.5” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width

Pickups/Hardware: 2 humbucker pickups (missing gold pickup covers), one volume, one tone knob, mini coil tap toggle switch, 3 way switch, combination wraparound bridge/tailpiece or tune-o-matic bridge with stop tailpiece, gold hardware, Grover tuning keys

Cosmetics: This instrument does have normal wear associated with a well-played & loved guitar from the late 1970’s – there are pick scratches, some dings & nicks on the body, a few dings on the neck & buckle rash on the back of the guitar. The frets do show some wear but they still have plenty of life left in them. The gold hardware is pitting & losing a lot of the color but you can still see some gold & it has some great vintage charm!

Playability: The longer scale length takes a few minutes to get used to but once you have it this baby rocks! The action is low & the instrument plays good up & down the fingerboard. The frets show some wear but they have plenty of life left in them. We set this instrument up with a new set of 10’s and it is ready to be played and loved.

Modifications: This guitar is missing the original Gold pickup covers
