Description

If you were to ask me what guitar has the best neck profile ever made, I would tell you that an early Gibson/Epiphone Sheraton is it. It has a soft V profile measuring .85" at the first fret and .94" at the 12th.
An Gibson built Sheraton (Epiphone, before Gibson, never made this model) is, essentially, an ES-355 with different pickups. The earliest ones which are crazy rare (only 12 ever made) and these had single coil "New York" pickups. They are kind of like a P90 with manners. This is the third (of the 12 blondes) that I've had over the years and I'm always tempted to keep them. They are that good. The last one sold in the $25K range and was also a 60. They only made this configuration for two years 59 and 60. After that the pickups were changed to mini hums and the neck profile lost its V shape. 61 and 62's are great (and just as rare) but if you want the single coils, you need a 59 or 60. This one is a factory blonde (E211TN on the label) but it has been refinished-again in blonde. So, let's cut the value by 40% which is the usual discount for a refinish. All correct/original parts-no wire ABR-1, frequensator tailpiece, pat pending Grovers, NY pickups, carousel knobs, etc. The guitar has been re-fretted. It is near mint. It plays beautifully. Rare original tweed case.
