This is an extremely cool Epiphone Wilshire that was made by Gibson in Kalamazoo in 1960. This is the earliest Wilshire we have seen, complete with an ink stamped serial number and the bikini logo. This guitar has some mods, but the finish is original, there are no neck repairs, and it has the fattest neck of any Wilshire we have encountered, a real '59 style profile. The biggest issue on this guitar is that there is a repair at the input jack that was done using a metal plate, clearly visible in the pictures. Aside from that there is no structural damage. The pickups are original but the pots are changed and the caps are vintage caps however they are not original to the guitar. The bridge, tailpiece, tuners and knobs are not original, although the knobs are cool earlier Epiphone knobs. The guitar has been pro-setup and is in excellent playing condition. It comes with the original soft case in the pictures which is very rough - or a new generic hard case, your choice.
