[Overview]
Reynolds fine tenor trombone, Emperor, with 7.5" yellow brass bell. Outer slide and slide end also made of yellow brass. 500'' slide bore. Original lacquer finish.Made in 1962.
[Condition.]
Paint peeling. Paint peeled off. Dent on the tip of the slide fixed (disassembled and repaired). Gooseneck paint is peeling and other minor flaws are scattered. Since this trombone was made 60 years ago, the slide action is not as smooth as that of today's trombones, but the movement does not interfere with normal playing.

Reynolds was founded in 1936 by Foster Allen Reynolds, who honed his skills as a technician at H.N. White (now King) for 30 years. In the 1950s, the company produced a full double for James Chambers, a solo horn player with the New York Philharmonic, and a double rotary bass trombone for Allen Ostrander, a bass trombonist also with the New York Philharmonic, and Louis Counihan of the Metropolitan Opera as a supervisor. The Contempora "Stereophonic" double rotary bass trombone was developed. The Contempora "Stereophonic" double-rotary bass trombone was developed under the supervision of Louis Counihan. The Emperor was an entry-level instrument in the lineup of the time, but it has a bright sound with a solid core.
