2013 Fender 1950's Closet Classic (1950 reissue) Daphne Blue

Summary: The Fender Custom Shop consistently produces some of the most excellent instruments ever made, this particular Thinline Telecaster is a gorgeous example of their expertise. This Closet Classic series Tele offers a slightly aged body with Daphne Blue lacquered finish that has lots of checking, a chambered construction with tons of natural resonance and a ‘50s style AAA flame maple neck with vintage tinted lacquer and gold pearl dots. The pickups are hand-wound and signed by the famous “Josefina” and they sound incredible. This Tele has just been setup with low action and restrung with a new set of 10s and it is playing like a dream. It ship in an aftermarket tweed hard-shell case with the Fender COA and case candy.

Body: The ash body is thin-line style with F-hole, lacquer checked Daphne Blue finish and topped off with a long 3-ply vintage white pickguard.

Neck: It has a ‘50s style AAA flame maple neck, bone nut, gold pearl dots, 25.5” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: The pickups are 1950s style Custom Shop hand-wound by Josefina, it has 50s style bridge with 3 brass saddles, vintage style tuning keys, 3 way switch, volume and tone with Greasebucket circuit, knurled knobs and all the screws are slotted screws as they would have been in 1950.

Cosmetics: This Closet Classic guitar has very modest relicing so this Telecaster has finish checking on the body, a few small dings and dents in the finish on the body and very slight patina to the hardware.

Playability: Our in-house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
