Easily one of the nicest Custom Shop Strats to grace our shop just in on consignment!
Being a 1954 reissue, this guitar sports a chunky, but incredibly comfortable, satin finished maple neck. Fat, yet perfectly shaped and never fatiguing, It's one of the most playable necks we've encountered on a Custom Shop guitar.
This Sonic Blue '54 sounds fantastic plugged in. Chimey, articulate, but with some muscle when you want it (by no means are these high output pickups though). The bridge pickup has a decidedly Tele-like quality to it (a great thing in our book) and the in-between positions give you all the classic Strat cluck you could ever want. **A quick search on YouTube will bring you to a demo of this actual guitar - done by the one and only Greg Koch.
Condition: Near mint / like new. It looks like this guitar was barely ever played.
Sometimes you pick up a Strat and it just feels right. Perfect weight (7.89lbs), neck shape, fit/finish, tones...this is one of those guitars folks. A great reminder that Fender's Custom Shop can still hang with any of the boutique builders we know and love. Alive, resonant, snappy, inspiring. We'll take two! Priced with original hardshell case and case candy.
