In the fall of 1950, the world of guitar and popular music changed forever with the introduction of the Broadcaster, Fender's first solid body electric guitar with a truss rod and two pickups. Now, this brand-new, updated and innovative Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster celebrates the best of the classic by molding it into an amazing and revolutionary instrument. Built in America, this guitar features an ash solidbody with a Blackguard Blonde lacquer finish, a period-correct black phenolic pickguard, a thick '50s U-shaped one-piece maple neck and a matching fingerboard.
A Custom Shop hand-wound '50-'51 Blackguard bridge pickup is matched with the Custom Shop Designed '50-'51 Blackguard neck pickup, producing a powerful, tasteful and gripping tone that can be shaped into your preference using the on-board master volume and tone controls, along with the three-way blade switch. The controls are wired for standard Telecaster operation, while an optional original Broadcaster wiring kit, included in the case, can be installed to replicate the unique blend circuit used in original Broadcasters.
