Summary: This Strat was part of a “Fender special run” especially for independent Fender dealers and features a beautiful translucent blue finish and vintage tinted maple neck. It has just been setup and restrung by
our in-house guitar tech and it ships in its original hard-shell case.
Body: Stratocaster solid body with translucent blue finish and 3 ply white pickguard.
Neck: This classic Fender has a nice full C maple neck with vintage tinted lacquer, 22 jumbo frets, closed back tuning machines, black dots, bone nut, 25 ½” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: 3 single coil pickups, middle pickup is RWRP so it is hum canceling in the in-between positions (2 and 4), 5 way switch, 1 volume, 2 tones, stainless steel saddles on a 2 point synchronized trem and nickel hardware.
Cosmetics: This Strat has some minor cosmetic wear such as pick scratches on the front, some buckle rash, a small crack in the back plate cover, various minor nicks and scratches around the body, some wear through the lacquer on the sides of the headstock and some fret-wear.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing and sounding really great. The neck has a slight back bow and the truss rod is as loose as it will go, so there is a bit of buzz on the low strings around the first few frets with the action as low as it is but it does not come through the amp buzzy at all. This could easily be countered by using a heavy set of strings so if you love using 11’s, 12’s or even 13’s – this would be a great guitar for heavier strings! There is also a bit of fret-wear but there’s still plenty of height left in the jumbo frets.
