This American Deluxe Telecaster is in excellent shape, neck and frets are fine, no issues. Cosmetically very clean, just the slightest evidence of being played.
The American Deluxe Telecaster introduced in 1998, features a pair of Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups and the S-1 switching system. Also featuring an Ash body and Maple neck with Maple fingerboard, 22 medium-jumbo frets, rolled fingerboard edges, and highly detailed nut and fret work. The truss rod adjustment is made at the headstock end, rather than the body end, The 3-saddle bridge of the original has been replaced with a 6-saddle version, allowing independent length and height adjustment for each string. The stamped metal bridge plate has been replaced with a plain, flat plate, and the bridge grounding cover has been discontinued for most models.(Which also makes it easier for players who like to mute strings at the bridge with the side of the palm, helping to produce the characteristic Telecaster 'twang').
The S-1 switching system gives you more tonal options by offering extra pickup-wiring configurations. Further, S-1 switching does this without significantly altering the appearance of an instrument, because it’s a “push” switch built into the single volume control knob. This American Deluxe Tele with the S-1 switch built into the volume knob puts the two pickups in series when the blade switch is in the middle position (Telecaster pickups are normally wired in parallel). This creates a fatter, rounder tone kind of like a humbucking pickup with the top-end character of a single-coil pickup. When the guitar’s blade switch is in the bridge or neck position, both settings operate normally and the S-1 switch doesn’t come in to play.
This is one fine "Tele", very collectable and playable. Don't miss this nice and clean one !
