Replay Guitar Exchange and Fender. Both American originals. Fender’s American Original Series are “best-of-the-decade” versions of Fender’s most iconic instruments and are updated to be even more playable for the modern musician. Think of them as modern twists on the retired American Vintage Reissue Series. Fender’s American Original instruments offer specially voiced pickups crafted for authentic sound of specific model years, recreating vintage Fender tone. Lacquer finishes lets the wood “breathe” naturally with resonant tone. Classic designs were made new and Replay Guitar Exchange is thrilled to be able to offer these instruments to you.
The Fender American Original ’60s Jazz Bass like this instrument finished in classic candy apple red, faithfully recreates the upscale instrument released in 1960 that found favor among working bassists, thanks to its premium appointments and versatile sound. The narrower neck seemed tailor-made for fast, dexterous playing, while the pair of single-coil pickups added a bold new dimension to Fender bass tone. The American Original ‘60s Jazz Bass has all the tone and style of its earliest incarnation, with modern playability. Features include an alder body with lacquer finish, a two Pure Vintage ‘64 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, and a slim “60s C”-shaped neck profile with a comfortable 9.5”-radius fingerboard.
