Replay Guitar Exchange and Fender. Both American originals. Fender’s American Original Series are “best-of-the-decade” versions of Fender’s most iconic instruments and are updated to be even more playable for the modern musician. Think of them as modern twists on the retired American Vintage Reissue Series. Fender’s American Original instruments offer specially voiced pickups crafted for authentic sound of specific model years, recreating vintage Fender tone. Classic designs were made new and Replay Guitar Exchange is thrilled to be able to offer these instruments to you.
The Fender American Original ’70s Jazz Bass like this instrument finished in glowing black, faithfully recreates the changes to the Jazz bass that occurred in the ‘70s. The visual style developed and new playing techniques such as slapping led directly to new, creative forms of expression. Its smooth feel and growly midrange, tempered with a bit of treble bite, made it a hero in recording sessions around the globe. The American Original ‘70s Jazz Bass updates the smooth playing feel with a modern-radius fingerboard, while retaining the classic Fender tone and style that made the Jazz Bass the tool of choice for creative bassists. Features include an ash body with a polyurethane finish, two Pure Vintage ‘75 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, and a thick “70s U”-shaped neck profile with a comfortable 9.5”-radius fingerboard.
