Over the course of the '70s, the Jazz Bass entered its teenage years, changing its visual style and inspiring new playing techniques — such as slapping — which led directly to new, creative forms of expression. The Fender American Original '70s Jazz Bass updates the smooth playing feel with a ton of innovative appointments, built from an ash solidbody with a 3-Color Sunburst gloss finish with a 3-ply Black/White/Black pickguard. Its smooth feel and growly midrange, tempered with a bit of treble bite, make it a hero in recording sessions or on the stage.
It's got a maple 1975 U-profile neck updated with a bound, modern-radius maple fingerboard, as well as twenty vintage-style frets and white pearloid block inlays. Two powerful Pure Vintage '75 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups are installed, controlled by two volumes and a master tone. The final touches include a four-saddle Pure Vintage '70s bridge with single groove saddles and a set of Pure Vintage '70s tuning machines with the Fender logo.
