Description

Here’s a rare and super cool vintage Fender: a 1961 Fender Bass VI. The Bass VI has been reissued multiple times by Fender. Why? Because these six-string bass guitars are more than cool oddities, they’re great playing and sounding guitars that allow guitarists to play traditional bass lines or fat lead riffs that really spice up your sound.

I was at a live show last year and was really impressed by sound the bass player was getting. His bass lines were so fluid and really held down the bottom end perfectly. I had to go up front and see what instrument he was playing. I was shocked to see he was playing a reissue Fender Bass VI. He played it the whole show and I came away with a new appreciation for what these six-string basses can do.

As nice as the reissues are, this true vintage Bass VI is head and shoulders above the newer ones. Though it can be set up as a baritone guitar, we set it up as Leo intended, a full octave below the standard guitar register. Sounds absolutely awesome.

The guitar is in very good vintage condition with some finish loss and normal play wear but still looking great. Comes with its original Brown Tolex hardshell case from 1961! Professionally set up in-house, this guitar is ready to rumble.
