This is a fabulous playing and sounding Fender Bass VI in a rare custom color. It is also a bit of a mystery as the body and parts all appear to be from 1966, but the neck has a date of May 63. The finish on both the body and headstock are original black and match perfectly. Pots date to 1965. We're not sure the history of how body and neck came together. The current owner obtained the bass from a reputable dealer who had represented the bass as original and that Fender had simply used a "leftover" neck on a custom ordered instrument. Given the three year split between body and neck we are not comfortable making that representation. That said, anything is possible, and either way this is a very rare instrument in a rare custom color. Aside from that, this is also a wonderful paying and sounding instrument. It shows some normal play wear, but overall is quite clean. It comes with the original case.
