Description

This Bassman is a very late (November "JK") 1960 and thus has the P10Q speakers which are able to handle the 45 watts a little better than the R's. All four are likely original and are date coded late 1960 and all four still have their original cones. That's pretty unusual because Jensen cones are not very heavy and really don't hold up very well over decades. If you want to gig this amp, have them re-coned. The amp has been completely re-capped. While it's true that a total recap can affect the tone of an amp, I can assure you this amp sounds like a tweed Bassman should. They used good quality caps (Sozo blue) and did a good job. The amp sounds great and is quiet. The cabinet is original tweed, the panel is near perfect-all the lettering is there and the chrome shines like new. There is shallow dent at the back edge. The transformers are all original. The handle is a repro (dog bone handles tend to break). The speakers go into a single 1/4" jack rather tha the four RCA's. It's an easy mod to reverse. The upper back panel is either a repro or has been re-tweeded. Grill is original.
