What a spectacular sounding rig! The 6G6-B circuit is the main reason, but the Jensen C12N speakers don't hurt either! We powered the amp up the first time with a variac as it hadn't been used in a while, then we got down to running it through its paces, and man, what a tone!

Mike Bloomfield favored a blond Bassman later in his career (the album Live at the Old Waldorf, recorded in 1976 and ’77, shows him plugged into one on the cover) and Pete Townshend used one early on with The Who. The most notable proponent of these amps today is probably Brian Setzer, who rocks a pair of them live. I knew that Setzer used or uses these amps, but the previous quote can be credited to Vintage Guitar Magazine, who profiled this amp circuit here: https://www.vintageguitar.com/13140/1964-fender-bassman/

The amp circuit has seen a bit of maintenance but retains the original 2 prong power cable. The all-important filter caps are change, but hose of you who like to see original caps in the chassis, you'll like this one. The amp runs as it should and doesn't seem to have any issues whatsoever.

At first glance, the amp is about as clean as they come. There are a couple tolex patches on the top of the head. Someone did a good job on this, taking the small squares from inside the back cover. The handles, hardware, grilles etc are all original. There is one obligatory, ancient cigarette burn on the top edge of the speaker cab.

You'll love this amazing amp!
