Description

I LOVE these Competition Mustangs and this one is a true stunner! 1970 Fender Mustang in factory Competition Blue with a matching headstock. You know, the guitar Kurt used in the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video, except his was a lefty. This example does have some finish wear, primarily along the butt of the body — it looks like it came into contact with some type of solvent and ate away at the finish. Other than that the finish is super vibrant with very little fading. 16SEP70B neck date and the original pots date to 1966 like most late 60s/early 70s Fenders. Plays and sounds fantastic and comes with an original hardshell case. No trem arm or bridge cover.
Year: 1970.
Model: Competition Mustang
Serial: 292871.
Finish: Competition Blue.
Case: Original hard shell case.
Weight: 7 pounds 1 ounce.
Condition: Overall in very good condition less some play wear, finish checking, various dings/dents and finish wear primarily along the butt of the body -- it looks like it came into contact with some type of solvent and ate away at the finish. Other than that the finish is super vibrant with very little fading. Some noticeable fret wear on the first few frets, but plays great as is.
Comments: Cool and rare Competition Blue Mustang.
