1986 Fender Contemporary Series Telecaster HSS Black
Plays and sounds great! Super cool and fairly hard to find Fender Contemporary Telecaster HSS made in 1986 in Japan at the Fujigen factory. Awesome display of the fantastic craftsmanship Fender Japan was delivering in this era.
I believe the guitar to be all original, aside from missing the backplate. I initially thought the knobs where replaced as they are not the Fender Contemporary "F" knobs, but I found pictures online of other Contemporary Telecasters of the same year with these knobs, so maybe there was a batch without them. Fender System One Locking trem is complete with locking pieces and the trem bar.
Guitar shows some wear such as a larger chip in the finish, a smaller chip in the finish, and other scratches, dings, blemishes, ect. The guitar definitely shows its age, but everything functions great, and honestly this is one of the better condition Contemporary Telecasters of this era I have come across in recent years despite its cosmetic flaws. I think the thickness/hardness of the finish makes these prone to chipping up a bit like this one did.
