Summary: The Fender Contemporary models were top of the line “superstrat” type guitars and were the first Fender Japan models to be exported as Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters, not Squires. The Fender Contemporary models were manufactured from 1984 to 1987 by FujiGen Gakki. Many of Fender Contemporary Stratocaster and Telecaster models had Fender Japan E serial number prefix at the beginning of their serial numbers but in fact, Fender never produced a line of guitars named the "E series".

Body: This Strat has a solid alder body in Olympic White with a 3-ply black/white/black.

Neck: This Strat has a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard with the flatter 12” radius. It also has 22 frets and pearloid position markers. Nut width-1 11/16” Scale length-25 ½”

Pickups/Hardware: This guitar features 3 single coil pickups, 5 position selector switch, 1 volume, 2 tones, locking string tree behind nut and System I tremolo(locking Kahler style).

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great condition with just a few pick scratches on the top and a few nicks and scratches on the back. The frets are in almost untouched shape with no gouges in them and plenty on life left.

Playability: This guitar plays fantastic with low action up and down the fingerboard. The vibrato arm is fully functional and is very smooth. It has been setup by our in-house luthier and strung up with a new set of 10’s.

Modifications: Pickguard has three screw holes that don’t line up and is possibly a replacement. It has one replaced screw for neck pickup adjustment.

Weight: 7 lbs, 9 oz.

Case: This guitar ships with a 1980’s Fender molded square hard-shell case & it also includes the original whammy bar.
