Description

Offered is another top-shelf instrument from the Fender Custom Shop, this one a '61 Stratocaster Relic by Masterbuilder Todd Krause. Built in 2015, this fabulous guitar has: a light Alder body with a heavily-aged Charcoal Frost Metallic nitrocellulose lacquer finish and a total weight of just 7.4 pounds (7 pounds, 6 ounces); an oval C-shaped quartersawn Maple neck with depth measurements of .81" at the 1st fret increasing to .93" at the 12th (per my calipers) and with most of the finish removed for a smooth, non-tacky feel; a lovely dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius, 6105 fret wire and a 1.650" bone nut; and for electronics, three hand-wound 60's single coils with VTT and five-way switching.

As a Masterbuilt instrument, this guitar represents the absolute best that the Fender Custom Shop and Todd Krause have to offer. It has been carefully crafted to have the look, feel and tone of a vintage instrument, but with superb playability characteristics that few vintage Strats are likely to have. It is resonant, lively and responsive. The tone is classic Strat quack as the provided Soundcloud sample attests to. This is a guitar that you will not want to put down.

All evidence indicates that this guitar has seen little to no play. Factory aging aside, it shows zero wear, frets included. It comes in it's original brown G&G case along with the certificate of authenticity, build sheet and the original accessories shown.

If you are looking for one of the best Stratocasters available from the Fender Custom Shop, this Todd Krause Masterbuilt should be on your short list. A new example will cost you nearly $7K but this near new 2015 example can be had for substantially less. Not only is this a truly great Fender Strat, at this price it is likely a great investment too. Make this amazing Strat yours!
