The Custom Shop was established in 1987 as Fender's premier section. The Custom Shop was established in 1987 as Fender's premier section, and has attracted many musicians by using high quality woods and sparing no time or expense to produce a sound that is a grade above the rest.
The NOS series stands for "New Old Stock," and is produced by reproducing the condition of brand-new pieces that were sold new at the time and brought directly into the modern age.
This model has an alder body and rounded rosewood fingerboard, reproducing a late 1962 Precision bass, the year when the basic specifications of Fender basses in the 1960s began. The detailed specifications such as clay dots and reverse wound pegs are of course also reproduced.
The light 3.89 kg body gives a rich mid-range sound, and the fat, warm sound with just the right amount of overtones follows the sound of a real vintage Precision bass.
The Dakota red color and tortoiseshell pickguard give this bass a unified feel, making it a cute and austere instrument!
