Description

Looking for a killer Tele? (Who isn't!) Offered is this Custom Shop '51 Telecaster "partscaster" NOS built very recently and in near mint condition. Originally built with a Maple neck and fretboard, the original owner had the Custom Shop supply him with a neck of the nearly the same specs, but with a rosewood fingerboard. He also switched out the original pickups. The result is something really special, essentially a Custom Shop Nocaster with a rosewood fingerboard.

This guitar has a (sorted for weight) Ash body with a Nocaster Blonde nitro lacquer finish and a total guitar weight of 7.5 pounds. As many of you may have heard, Fender will no longer be using Ash for their guitar bodies, so if you are a fan of Ash, get 'em while you can! Like the original, the new Custom Shop neck is made of quarter sawn Maple with Fender's 10/56 V neck carve (a very soft V) and depth measurements of .89" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret. It has lovely dark Indian Rosewood fingerboard with a compound radius of 7.5" - 9.5", 6105 frets and a 1.650" bone nut. The new neck alone was $1,500. The original pickups were switched out for a set of Custom Shop Twisted Tele single coils matched with volume and tone controls, a three-way switch and modern wiring.

This guitar plays like a dream and sounds even better. Please check out the brief sound sample provided below (click the 'Soundcloud' link). It has terrific bite and Tele twang without being piercing.

This guitar is in near mint condition, with only a few pick scuffs on the single ply black pickguard to distinguish it from new. As shown in the photos, the frets are spotless. It comes in it's original G&G brown case with the certificate of authenticity, the build sheet and the accessories shown.

If you love high-end Telecaster-style guitars, this instrument may be just what you have been looking for. Make this beauty yours. You will be very glad you did!
