The 1959 double-bound Telecaster Custom imparted a refined look to the once-rugged working man’s guitar. The Custom Shop ’59 Telecaster Custom Relic represents what would have been a rare early 1959 model, with a one-piece maple neck and several seamless modern customizations. The bound two-piece select alder body features a worn-in Relic lacquer finish, while the one-piece quartersawn maple neck has a 1959 “D” profile, 9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets for comfortable well-loved look and feel.
Hand-wound Custom Shop Texas Special pickups are hooked up to a three-way switch and modern Tele® wiring with the Greasebucket tone circuit, which retains mid-range when rolling off highs. Other features include a single-ply parchment pickguard, ’59/’60 Tele bridge with compensated brass barrel saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree with tall metal spacer. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
