2013 Fender Custom Shop '61 Telecaster Custom, Big U Neck
Offered is this gorgeous '61 Telecaster Custom built in the Fender Custom Shop. This one has been given Fender's Closet Classic level aging, binding on both sides of the body and a faded three tone sunburst finish. To my eye, this is one of the most beautiful electric guitars made.
The specs on this wonderful Tele include: a two piece Ash body with a total guitar weight of just 7 pounds, 7 ounces. It has a big Nocaster neck carve with depths of .950" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret. It has a dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius, 6105 frets and a 1.650" bone nut. The pickups are Twisted Tele single coils with volume, tone, a three-way and modern wiring.
The dealer that ordered this guitar specified "moderate checking" with "no knicks or dings" for the light aging that this instrument received. As a result of the factory checking, a tiny bit of finish has flaked off around the string ferrules on the back of the guitar (see photos). It is extremely realistic, but if you are not a fan of finish checking, this may not be the guitar for you.
This Tele almost plays itself and the tone is even better. The bridge position tone is classic Tele twang without being piercing and the neck and middle pickup positions are particularly rich sounding. Please check out the brief sound sample provided.
Except for the Closet Classic aging. this guitar is in superb condition and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original brown G&G case, also in great condition, along with all the original accessories.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
