Players looking for a special Fender Custom Shop guitar would be wise to check out this unique Todd Krause Masterbuilt Strat. Todd has been a Masterbuilder at Fender since 1997 and has built custom guitars for the likes of Jeff Beck, Clapton, Bob Dylan, Gilmour, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Roger Waters, Robin Trower, and Robbie Robertson.

Speaking of Robbie Robertson, this 50's Control Plate Heavy Relic Strat is very reminiscent of Robbie's bronzed "Last Waltz" Strat. Featuring a lightweight alder body, a super comfortable "10/56 V" shaped maple neck, and Fat 50s pickups, this guitar captures the feel of a 50s Strat while offering some custom elements not found on other Stratocasters - namely, the aluminum plates affixed to the black phenolic pickguard. The plates serve a tonal purpose in addition to just looking awesome. The intention was to soften, or "round off", the upper harmonics of the Custom Shop pickups while also reducing 60-cycle hum. Win/win.

Condition: Like new (it's a heavy relic after all).

The result is a very resonant and lively instrument that's simply a joy to play. No surprise given Todd's philosphy: "It's about the way an instrument sounds and feels. It has to look cool, and it has to compel you to play."

Always wished you could play a guitar that Clapton, Gilmour, or Jeff Beck has played? While we can't do that for you, we can get you a little closer by offering a guitar made by their builder. Simply an exceptional guitar by any measure. Priced with hardshell case.
