The idea for the Custom Shop was first conceived in late 1984, and in March 1985, CBS transitioned to a new organization, bringing in Michael Stevens and John Page in 1986, and introducing the first Fender Custom Shop guitar at the NAMM SHOW in January 1987. This was the official start of the Custom Shop. Now, nearly 40 years later, the company continues to provide musicians with instruments that live up to its Dream Factory name with original ideas, exceptional taste, the finest materials, and a wealth of experience. The Jeff Beck Model in the Custom Artist Series is a Stratocaster that embodies Jeff Beck's desire for maximum playability. Locking pegs for easy string changes, a locking roller nut that reduces frictional resistance while minimizing deviation from the norm even with heavy arming, a truss rod that allows easy neck adjustment from the head side, jumbo frets for superior playability, and a heel-less design that eliminates frustration even at high positions. The body joint is cut to a low noise level despite the single pickup, and the hot noiseless pickups provide a powerful and manageable sound. This Stratocaster is made of carefully selected woods and finished slowly and carefully with outstanding technical skills, sparing no time or cost. It is a guitar that gives you a rich time to enjoy your leisure time while remembering the sounds and images of how Beck used to play like this.
