Description

Oh what a fabulous Telecaster! Offered is this amazing "Wildwood 10" '59-style Telecaster Relic built in the Fender Custom Shop in 2008. "Wildwood 10's" are of course named for their flatter freboard radius necks and the popular Colorado-based Fender dealer these guitars are made exclusively for. Next to Master Built instruments, I've found WW 10's to be among the best Fender Custom Shop guitars currently being built. This example is one of the finest Telecasters that I have come across in my many years of collecting and selling guitars.

The specs for this incredible piece include: a moderately aged, and extremely light weight Ash body with a total guitar weight of just 6.4 pounds; a Faded Vintage Blonde nitro lacquer finish; a lovely quartersawn Maple neck with a '51 Nocaster U shape and depth measurements of .990" at the 1st fret and 1.00" at the 12th (my measurements); a gorgeous dark slab Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with Wildwood's namesake 10" fretboard radius, Sanko 6105 frets, clay dots and a 1.650" bone nut; and for electronics, a Twisted Tele single coil in the neck position, a Broadcaster single coil in the bridge position, volume, tone and a three-way switch with modern wiring.

I fell in love with this instrument the first time I played it. The big chunky neck, the aged vibe, the Brazilian fretboard and the ultra-light weight of this instrument make for the perfect combination and this guitar has that liveliness and resonance that few guitars have. You have to play many guitars to find one with the special qualities of this guitar. It plays with incredible ease and it sounds like a real vintage Tele.

This beautiful instrument has seen only light play over the years. It still had the plastic film on the pickguard when I received it. The frets show little to no wear. It comes in it's original special edition G&G case which is in very good condition with just a few scuffs and some tarnishing of the hardware. Included are the certificate of authenticity, the build sheet and much of the original paperwork and accessories.

This particular guitar is among the best Telecasters that money can buy. If you demand the best, this guitar may be for you!
