Description

Offered is a guitar that is the epitome of the high-end Telecaster. From the Fender Custom Shop is this Wildwood "10" Jason Smith Masterbuilt '59 NOS Telecaster built in 2010. The name is long, but the guitar is incredible!

This Tele was commissioned with the best of everything that the Fender Custom Shop has to offer. It's a Masterbuilt guitar, meaning it was built from beginning to end by one luthier, in this case, Fender Master Builder Jason Smith. It's a Wildwood "10" limited edition, so you know it is special and has the namesake 10" fingerboard radius. It's made from incredibly light Swamp Ash and weighs just under 6.5 pounds! The neck was made from an incredible piece of AAA grade Birdseye Maple, which was given a Brazilian Rosewood slab fretboard with fancy Abalone dot inlays. The pickups are Abigail Ybarra hand-wounds, arguably the best Fender has ever produced, including a 10k Broadcaster flat pole single coil in the bridge. Other specs of significance include: a Vintage Blonde 'Thinskin' nitrocellulose lacquer finish; a 1.650" bone nut; 6105 (medium/tall) frets; a 60's oval C-shape neck with depth measurements (mine) of .840" at the first fret and .950" at the twelfth fret.

To play this guitar is to play the best that the Fender Custom Shop can produce. It is an absolute delight to play and sounds like sonic perfection. The ultra-light weight and the high-end materials used have produced an incredibly resonate guitar with a superb voice. The provided sound sample doesn't do this guitar justice, but be sure to check it out. I get to play a lot of great guitars, but this is an astoundingly good Tele!

Built in 2010, this guitar was cherished by it's original owner. It is in near perfect condition except for one very unfortunate finish ding on the lower bout right next to the lower strap pin (see photos). The frets show little to no wear and other than this ding, the guitar is in virtually immaculate condition.

This incredible guitar comes with it's original limited edition G&G case, along with the certificate of authenticity, the build sheet and the accessories shown. To commission a new example with these specs would easily cost $8.5K plus a long wait. This near mint beauty (with one cosmetic ding) can be yours for thousands less. If you have been waiting for an ultra-special Fender Tele to come along, the wait is over!
