1966 Custom Telecaster
Original 1966 Custom Telecaster with body binding and cool looks.
The original Custom Telecaster was released from around 1959 to 1969. The original name was Telecaster Custom, but it is generally called Custom Telecaster because of the logo on the head, etc. In 1972, Telecaster Custom was re-released with significant specification changes, but it completely lost the original model with humbucking in the front position. The original model is no longer available.
This 1966 Custom Telecaster is from the CBS period, but was built during Leo Fender's tenure, and retains the pre-CBS flow in sound and specifications. There are some visual features such as the transition logo, thicker head, roundboard fingerboard with the rosewood fingerboard and maple neck joint surface affixed as well as the fingerboard's curl, 3-ply pickguard, and spiral type bridge saddle, but the lacquered paint until around 1968 still has a feel is an area that we feel is directly related to the overall sound.
The binding and other parts are peeling off, and the history of fighting many battles can be glimpsed. Therefore, the sound and resonance of the body itself is one of the best. The sound is warm in the middle even though it is a Telecaster, and even when distorted, the sound has a solid axis sound and is not blurred. The frets and nut have been replaced at our store, so this vintage custom Telecaster can be used in the field and the sound will convince you.
