Description

The 1960s Fender amplifiers with Reverb have been an industry standard for electric guitar tone since their introduction in 1964. The Deluxe Reverb-Amp is the most popular of the line with its manageable ~22 watt output and 12″ speaker. The Reverb and Tremolo that this amp features has become the benchmark by which many other amp builders have based their circuit and tonal aspirations.

This March 1965 assembled Deluxe Reverb-Amp has survived in nice condition and is ready for the stage or studio. All transformers and the speaker are original to the amp with proper late 1964 date codes. All other parts appear to be original to the amp except for a few maintenance items including a three prong power cord for safety, replaced filter caps, two replaced electrolytic caps on the board, updated fuse holder, replaced rectifier and power tubes, and replaced reverb tank. At some point, a previous technician dripped some solder on a few parts around the chassis likely in hopes to fix a grounding problem. Our tech found the grounding issue immediately and reflowed a cold solder joint on one of the grounding wires to the board. It’s now in excellent playing condition with no issues.

This Deluxe Reverb-Amp was likely one of the last to be made with the pre-CBS “Fender Electric Instrument Co.” brand name with no raised logo on the grill cloth. CBS purchased the company in January 1965 but didn’t have an effect on production until later in the year. We’re confident you’ll love the tone and aesthetic from this clean 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb-Amp!
