1953 Fender Esquire "Black Guard"

Fender's blackguard-era guitars are some of the finest and most coveted electric guitars on the vintage market, and this 1953 Esquire model is a perfect example! The resonant ash body has tons of sustain while the soft "V" shaped neck is smaller than earlier broadcaster styles but still plenty chunky making grabbing chords in the lower frets a breeze. It's original flat-pole bridge pickup delivers an aggressive tone that make these exceptionally versatile, while the original wiring allows for a huge variety of settings. This guitar features a newer set of brass saddles installed with the originals in the case, as well as an aftermarket set of tuners, again with the originals included. The neck has been professionally refret making for a great playing experience anywhere on the fingerboard.
