Description

Coolest guitar in the house right now. Black guard 1954 Esquires are pretty rare to begin with. The thing that makes this one so unusual is the factory added Bigsby B16. The B16 was only offered for a few years, so there aren't a whole lot of them. This is only the second one I've seen and the other one was on a much later guitar. The guitar was originally a standard Esquire but was likely returned to the factory for the addition of the Bigsby. The rest of the guitar is original. Looking this cool is only part of the attraction here. This thing is a monster. Huge soft V neck, hot pickup and killer tone. If I were keeping it, I'd probably re-fret it with slightly bigger wire but it plays fine as it with its (probably) original frets. The case is a poodle case (not a thermometer case). It seems totally intact but has been completely covered in duct tape. All latches and hinges and the handle are fine and functional. Gruhn appraised this guitar at $30K in 2016. I'm selling it for thousands less.
